CAli*MA Art Gallery • Nagla Ezzat (Egypt)
Nagla Ezzat, Egyptian visual artist and poet, was born in Cairo in 1975. Alongside her artistic career, she has worked as a press illustrator and as visual art specialist at the Supreme Council of Culture. Currently, she is preparing the publishing of her first Arabic poetry and art book, which is about all kinds of baggage - travel baggage and emotional baggage.
"I’ve always felt drawn to creative expression, since childhood I wanted to pursue art seriously. Light, shadows, colour and form fascinated me and inspired me, as well as emotions and personal experiences. I use my work to explore the beauty and complexity of life. Art became my way of understanding myself and the world around me, and through it, I connect with others and express the stories that words alone can’t capture." ~ Nagla Ezzat
